Trinity Association of Southwest Kansas

A TRADITION OF COMMUNITY SERVICE . . .

In 1949, with a clear vision to guide them, a group of community-oriented individuals formed the Methodist Hospital Association, “Trinity.”  The primary focus of this non-profit organization was managing and operating a hospital in Dodge City, Kansas.

Today, members of the community share the nostalgia of recalling visits to family and friends, or being patients themselves.  Many note with pride that they or their children were born at Trinity.

When the hospital closed in 1976, the facility was updated and became Dodge City’s first senior housing complex, "Trinity Center" Retirement Apartments.  This decisive action also preserved a major community landmark.

In 1977, with help from a federal grant, Trinity offered many innovative services:  home health care, visiting clinics, consulting services for health facilities and a consumer health education center.

In 1983, Trinity aggressively stepped into long-term nursing care with the purchase and total renovation of the facility now known as Trinity Manor.  In 1995, Trinity developed Southwest Kansas’ first Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit.

Today, Trinity is helping the growing senior community enjoy its longevity and adapt to emotional and medical changes unimagined in past generations.  Our Board’s vision of the future unveils Trinity’s plan to provide a continuum of care for a lifetime.  The Trinity Campus, located at Sixth Avenue and West Frontview, will become a Continuing Care Retirement Community.
